Sync Songs, Movies, Apps, Contacts, Photos, etc with iCloud

iCloud Sync/Transfer/Backup

iCloud offers an effortless way to access almost all files to all your devices. iCloud stores your music, photos, apps, calendars, documents, and more. And wirelessly pushes them to all your devices like iPad, iPhone and iPod touch automatically.

To set up iCloud sync, you only need to set up iCloud and make sure to turn on the features in Settings. Following are the detailed steps to help you finish iCloud sync, iCloud transfer, or iCloud backup on Mac, Windows, and iOS devices.

iCloud Sync on iOS Devices

Make sure your iOS devices are running iOS 5. Then turn on iPad, iPhone or iPod, open the Settings app and choose iCloud. Enter your iCloud credentials, turn on the items on the list, including PhotoStream, Documents, Find My iPhone, etc. If you need the backup function, turn on the iCloud Backup. Very easy, right?

iCloud Sync on Mac Computer

To make full use of iCloud feature, you will have to update your Mac OS to the latest version of OS X Lion 10.7.2. You are allowed to download the update from the Software Update menu item under the Apple Menu. Once you download and update your Mac, you will find a new iCloud item in Settings.

If you haven’t already, it will ask you to create a new account or move your MobileMe account over to an iCloud account. Check out the items on the list of functions in the iCloud Settings. Then you will have a new account in iCal, Mail, Contacts, and so on. You can also go into the Preferences of each application to rank your iCloud.

iCloud Sync on Windows Computer

In order to setup iCloud on a Windows PC, iTunes 10.5 and iCloud Control Panel will be needed. The Control Panel will sync your iCloud Mail, Contacts and Calendars & Tasks with Outlook. You can also sync other things, like Photo Stream and your bookmarks with Internet Explorer.  Once installed, the iCloud Control Panel will ask for your iCloud user name and password.  Next it opens the actual Control Panel where you can choose which elements to sync. Before you actually start checking boxes and hit Apply, please make sure to run Outlook at least once so you  have it setup. If you don’t, iCloud Control Panel will not work well.
